Grand-Cul-de-Sac, honestly
Grand-Cul-de-Sac is a lagoon. A reef closes it off, so the water inside stays shallow and flat. That suits families with small children, and it is the part of the island where the watersports happen. It is calmer than St-Jean or Gustavia, with far less passing traffic. You will still want a car: nothing on St Barth works well without one, and I would not plan a stay here otherwise.

This is a house for a large group. Eleven bedrooms and sleeping space for twenty-two means several families travelling together, or a reunion. It is not a couples' villa, and taking it for six people makes little sense. What the numbers do not tell you is how the rooms are laid out. What the villa comes with
Air conditioning, wifi and high-speed internet, television, and a private pool that is heated. An airport shuttle is part of the villa's services, which helps with a group this size. If something matters to you that is not on this list, ask me rather than assume, I would rather tell you it is not there than have you discover it on arrival.
Who this house is really for
The trade you are making here is a simple one. You are choosing a base that keeps a large group together in one place, rather than one that drops you into the busier side of the island. In return you get calm, and calm is what makes a house this size actually work, with several families under one roof and a real mix of ages who want to be together without living on top of each other.
It is the wrong house for two kinds of guest, and I would rather say so up front. If you came to surf or to swim any distance in open water, this bay will frustrate you, and the open coasts on the rest of the island are where I would point you instead. And if you are a couple, or a small group, the place is far more than you need, it only starts to make sense once there are enough of you to fill it.

Yes. It is a private pool and it is heated. If you want it running for your stay, say so when you enquire and I will confirm it with the house.
Do we still need to rent cars?
Yes. An airport shuttle comes with the villa, but St Barth is a driving island whatever the neighbourhood, and Grand-Cul-de-Sac is no exception. For a group of twenty-two, plan on more than one vehicle.
