Grand-Cul-de-Sac, St Barth

Larimar Estate · 11 Bedrooms in Grand-Cul-de-Sac

Larimar Estate has eleven bedrooms and sleeps twenty-two, in Grand-Cul-de-Sac. That is a house for a large group: a family reunion, or several families travelling together. Grand-Cul-de-Sac sits behind a reef, so the lagoon water is shallow and flat, and it is the part of the island where the watersports happen. I can confirm the exact bedroom configuration on request, tell me your dates and how many of you there are.

Ask about this villa

I am on St Barth. Want to be sure before you book? Ask me and I will send you fresh photos or a short video of this villa on WhatsApp, or go and see it in person for you. Nothing staged, nothing hidden.

Grand-Cul-de-Sac, honestly

Grand-Cul-de-Sac is a lagoon. A reef closes it off, so the water inside stays shallow and flat. That suits families with small children, and it is the part of the island where the watersports happen. It is calmer than St-Jean or Gustavia, with far less passing traffic. You will still want a car: nothing on St Barth works well without one, and I would not plan a stay here otherwise.

Eleven bedrooms, twenty-two guests

This is a house for a large group. Eleven bedrooms and sleeping space for twenty-two means several families travelling together, or a reunion. It is not a couples' villa, and taking it for six people makes little sense. What the numbers do not tell you is how the rooms are laid out. I have that detail and I will send it to you rather than guess here. Ask me before you decide, especially if the group has a mix of ages.

What the villa comes with

Air conditioning, wifi and high-speed internet, television, and a private pool that is heated. An airport shuttle is part of the villa's services, which helps with a group this size. If something matters to you that is not on this list, ask me rather than assume, I would rather tell you it is not there than have you discover it on arrival.

Who this house is really for

The trade you are making here is a simple one. You are choosing a base that keeps a large group together in one place, rather than one that drops you into the busier side of the island. In return you get calm, and calm is what makes a house this size actually work, with several families under one roof and a real mix of ages who want to be together without living on top of each other.

It is the wrong house for two kinds of guest, and I would rather say so up front. If you came to surf or to swim any distance in open water, this bay will frustrate you, and the open coasts on the rest of the island are where I would point you instead. And if you are a couple, or a small group, the place is far more than you need, it only starts to make sense once there are enough of you to fill it.

What the villa has

Common questions

How many people can Larimar Estate actually take?

Eleven bedrooms, twenty-two guests. The room-by-room configuration is not something I will guess at in a listing, ask me and I will send you the exact breakdown, so you can allocate rooms before you commit rather than after you arrive.

Is the pool really heated?

Yes. It is a private pool and it is heated. If you want it running for your stay, say so when you enquire and I will confirm it with the house.

Do we still need to rent cars?

Yes. An airport shuttle comes with the villa, but St Barth is a driving island whatever the neighbourhood, and Grand-Cul-de-Sac is no exception. For a group of twenty-two, plan on more than one vehicle.

Rates

Rates and availability

Rates depend on the season and the length of stay, so I quote them case by case rather than publishing a figure that would be wrong half the year. Tell me your dates and who is travelling, and I come back with the real number and what is still open.
