Grand-Cul-de-Sac, St Barth

Lazuli Estate · 7 Bedrooms in Grand-Cul-de-Sac

Lazuli Estate is a seven-bedroom house in Grand-Cul-de-Sac, sleeping fourteen. I live on the island year-round and I work with the agency that manages it, so here is what I can tell you honestly: the amenity list is short and verified, and the lagoon shapes the days here. Anything beyond that, ask me and I will check with the agency before you commit.

Ask about this villa

I am on St Barth. Want to be sure before you book? Ask me and I will send you fresh photos or a short video of this villa on WhatsApp, or go and see it in person for you. Nothing staged, nothing hidden.

What Grand-Cul-de-Sac is actually like

Grand-Cul-de-Sac sits behind a reef. That reef closes the bay, so the water inside stays shallow and flat. You can walk out and it stays low. That suits small children, and it suits anyone who does not like swell. It is also why the wind sports happen here: flat water and steady breeze. If you want open ocean and waves, this is the wrong side of the island, Flamands and Saline have them. You will drive to Gustavia and to most of the island.

Seven bedrooms, fourteen guests

The house has seven bedrooms and sleeps fourteen. That is the whole of what I have been given on capacity, and I would rather say so than guess. I cannot tell you which rooms take two people, which are twins, or how they are arranged. If the sleeping plan decides your booking, and it often does when two families split a house or teenagers need their own rooms, send me your dates. I will get the exact configuration from the agency before you commit to anything. Same for questions about the property itself.

The pool, the access, the practical list

The pool is private and heated. Access is step-free, which is worth reading twice: St Barth is built on hills, so steps are common here, and level entry is not something every house on the island can offer. Air conditioning, wifi, broadband internet and television are in place, and an airport shuttle is listed among the amenities. That is the full list I have been given. If something you need is not on it, ask me rather than assume, I will check with the agency instead of guessing.

Who this house is for

One honest caveat before you picture the week: the air here rarely falls completely still. If the evening you have in mind is a dead-calm one by the pool, some nights will not hand it to you. It is a small thing, and for most groups it is no cost at all, but I would rather name it than let it surprise you.

Where this house earns its place is with a group big enough to fill it. Seven bedrooms is a lot of house, it suits two families sharing, or a trip across generations where the teenagers want their own door to close. The step-free layout matters just as much: on an island this steep a level house is rare, so if someone travelling with you cannot manage stairs, this is one of the few I can point them to. A couple on their own would rattle around in it; this is a base for a crowd that wants one roof to itself.

What the villa has

Common questions

What is the water like at Grand-Cul-de-Sac?

The bay is closed by a reef, so the water inside is shallow and flat rather than open ocean. It is the calm, standing-depth kind of swimming, and it is why windsurfing and kitesurfing happen in this bay. Where exactly the house sits in relation to the water I have not been told, so I will not guess, ask me and I will confirm.

Is the pool heated?

Yes. The pool is private and heated. That is stated in the amenities I have been given for the house. I have not been given its dimensions or its orientation, so if either matters to you, tell me and I will get the answer from the agency rather than describe something I have not verified.

Do we need to rent a car?

Yes, plan on it. An airport shuttle is listed among the amenities, but that covers your arrival, not your week. Grand-Cul-de-Sac is on the northeast side of the island and everything else, including Gustavia, is a drive. With fourteen guests you will want more than one vehicle.

Rates

Rates and availability

Rates depend on the season and the length of stay, so I quote them case by case rather than publishing a figure that would be wrong half the year. Tell me your dates and who is travelling, and I come back with the real number and what is still open.
