What Lurin is really like
Lurin sits in the heights above Gouverneur, on the southern side of the island. It is residential and quiet. Nobody passes through it by accident. The honest part first: there is no beach you can walk to from Lurin. Gouverneur lies below, and the road down is steep. You drive it. Gouverneur itself is wild: no shops, no bar, no beach service of any kind. Bring water and shade. For groceries or dinner, the car again.
What the villa is equipped with
Vitti has five bedrooms and sleeps ten. Air conditioning, wifi and high-speed internet, television. The kitchen is a working one: oven and cooktop, microwave. There is a barbecue outside. The pool is private and heated. There is also a fitness room, and an airport shuttle is on the equipment list. Everything above comes from the villa's own equipment list; if something is not on it, I will not tell you it is there.
Who it works for, and the trade-off
The villa is listed as child-friendly, and a travel cot is provided; there is an ironing board too, which sounds trivial until you have a week of laundry. Five bedrooms and sleeping for ten covers a large family or two households travelling together, though I would confirm with the agency how the beds are actually distributed before you split the rooms up. The trade-off in Lurin is dependence on the car: for the beach, for bread in the morning, for everything. If nobody in your party wants to drive down a steep road at night, tell me and I will point you somewhere flatter.
Living Above Gouverneur

Lurin itself has no shops, so every errand is a drive, whether that is Gustavia for the port and the boutiques or St-Jean for the beach and the commerces.
I would not send someone here who wants to step out the door onto sand, or who plans to manage without a car. The road down to Gouverneur is steep, and driving it after dark takes attention. What you get in exchange is quiet and the feeling of being above things rather than in the middle of them.

No. Lurin is up on the heights and has no beach access on foot. Gouverneur is the beach below, and you get there by car, down a steep road. Gouverneur is wild: no shops, no bar, nothing to rent. Take water, shade and whatever you plan to eat.
Do we need to rent a car?
Yes. An airport shuttle is on the villa's equipment list, but after that nothing in Lurin is walkable: beach, groceries, dinner, all by car. With ten of you I would ask the agency about a second vehicle. The road down to Gouverneur is steep, and I would not put a nervous driver on it at night.
Does it work with young children?
