Gustavia is the port and the centre of the island's activity. It is flat, walkable, and there is life right outside the door. Corossol is residential and quiet, and everything is done by car. The two are only minutes apart, so the choice is about what you want at the villa itself, not about distance.
Can I walk to a beach for swimming from a villa in Corossol?
There is a small sheltered beach in the village, but it is where the fishing boats are kept and there are no services on it. If your trip is built around a beach with room to spread out, you will be driving to it. In that case look at Lorient or Flamands instead.
Is Corossol a reasonable choice for a first stay on the island?
It works if you are comfortable driving and want quiet at the house. For a first visit with shops and a busy beach nearby, St-Jean fits better, though it also gets the most passing traffic. Lorient is a middle ground: a real village with a school and a shop, a calm stretch of water inside the reef, and less coming and going than St-Jean.
Can these houses take a large group?
